Building materials are various materials used in construction projects.
There are many kinds of building materials, which can be roughly divided into: (1) Inorganic materials, including metal materials (including ferrous materials and non-ferrous materials) and non-metallic materials (such as natural stone, burnt earth products, cement, concrete and silicate products). (2) Organic materials include vegetable materials, synthetic polymer materials (including plastics, coatings, adhesives) and asphalt materials. (3) Composite materials, including asphalt concrete and polymer concrete, are generally composed of inorganic non-metallic materials and organic materials.
